The Robinson Cottage
The historic 1795 Robinson Cottage is one of the oldest post-revolutionary buildings in Fairfield County, CT.
Diane Milner's late 1800's house sits on a stone foundation with a dirt crawl space at the bottom of a steep incline in the Shoreline Area of Connecticut, a region known for it's rocky terrain and solid expanses of granite bedrock nestled among Long Island Sound shoreline, marshes, and creeks.
During the winter of 2006, groundwater was seeping into Diane's crawlspace. Periods of heavy rainfall exasperated the problem. The additional excessive moisture in the winter of 2006 had Diane pumping out as much as 1,000 gallons of water the day after a heavy storm and had nowhere to put it but in the street which was a problem with the town.
--This photo shows water flowing into Diane's crawl space as seen through a cutout in her living room floor.
--This photo shows the dampness on the underside of Diane's living room floors as seen from inside the crawl space.
Before the winter of 2006 Diane suffered chronic sinus problems - including many sinus infections and headaches - as a result of mold growth in the crawlspace that consequently deteriorated indoor air quality. She spent several years and a lot of time and money searching for solutions to help her get better, all to no avail. She knew the crawlspace was the source of her problems but simply couldn't find a good solution until she found Neutocrete Systems.
--Top photo is a close up of mold growing on a beam in Diane's crawl space.
--This left photo shows plastic sheeting being applied by Diane's brother to the crawl space floor in 2005, before Diane contacted Neutocrete Systems. This was a low-cost solution that proved ineffective against water intrusion and mold growth. Note the mold that is growing on the beam in the upper left corner of the photo.
--This shot was taken after Neutocrete® from the same cutout in the living room floor as the water photo above. As you can see everything is dry and the mold is gone.
Neutocrete® Systems solved the problem by:
Once installed, it dries out and seals your basement or crawlspace creating an environment that is now inhospitable to molds, mildew, odors, dry rot, rodents, insects, and even radon.
